Foundation

This is an intensive one-day (9.00-5.00) course, which should suit sales engineers and others requiring a basis for further training.

The format includes tests spread through the day, multiple choice.
Delegates achieving 75% in the assessment tests will receive a pass Certificate.

Guides and codes of practice relevant to fire detection and alarms
The categories of systems for a building (i.e. L1 to L5, P1 to P2)

Session 2

Fault monitoring and circuit integrity
Technology and system components
Manual call point zones
Detector and alarm zone sizes and constraints

Session 3

Sounder requirements
Siting manual call points
Detector coverage, taking into account obstructions

Session 4

Siting detectors in pitched roofs, near obstructions
Power supplies and standby durations
Cable requirements and fire resistance of cables
False alarm management and good maintenance
